This past weekend I had the chance to attend a Landscape Photography workshop, hosted by one of Kenya’s renown photographers, Rahim Mansur Kara. You can check out his work on http://www.megapixels.co.ke
We camped at Oasis Eco Camp (http://www.oasis.co.ke), which is situated in Gilgil, Nakuru, at the shores of Lake Elementaita and 5.4 kilometres from the famous nyama choma joint, Kikopey.
We opted to use Mai Mahiu road from Nairobi to our destination and the entire journey took us about 4 hours, which was as a result of making several stops along the way in order to capture some amazing landscape shots.

It was quite the experience as a first time camper. I had envisioned something completely different and part of it did not include finding spiders in my tent and inside my sleeping bag. I could barely get any eyes shut with insects and only-God-knows-what-other-creatures trying to find their way into my tent *gasps*. That in addition led to me missing a beautiful sunrise the following day *sobs*.
Nevertheless, I managed to capture some astounding images before nightfall.
The 9-seater Land Cruisers we used for the trip. The perfect vehicles for a safari.
The camping site. Each tent is able to comfortably accommodate two people.

A bur-reed
The entire experience was eye-opening.
