Biacara is a kikuyu word from the Kikuyu tribe of Kenya, meaning a business or businesses. These can either be small-scale or large-scale.
I opted to focus on small-scale businesses that are thriving in Nyeri town. From the cobblers to the basket-weavers to the sugarcane seller who can be spotted by the roadside, and inside the market place.
I am a self-taught photographer who started out in Travel Photography, where I share my travel experiences through my photographs, as well as a bit of writing. With time my interests expanded to Documentary Photography, which has now become my main area of focus. I love to highlight human interest stories and social issues, especially those revolving around everyday life, both in rural and urban settings.

Curious to know Jeff’s story. apron and a sailor’s hat? did I miss something? ?

Hehehe the story is the hat :D. The apron was just to point out that he’s a cook without it being so obvious by including the food he makes.

Great documentary work. It would be great if you told each subject’s story alongside their photo.
